For all the times that I think I'm positively insane, I see things that at least make me feel like I'm not so crazy.

Michael Vick (alias - that dog-abusing asshole) is being sued by a crazy person, who is demanding $63,000,000,000.00 billion dollars, backed by silver and gold, to be delivered by "UPS".

And apparently, the plaintiff's dogs were sold by Vick on eBay, with the proceeds "...being used to purchase missles from the Iran(sic) Government."

This would be proof of why I'm glad that I don't have to worry about finding a girlfriend (or boyfriend, if I felt so inclined) - I don't have to worry about encountering personals ads profiles like this: Crap Match.Com Profile from a Dude

One of the best parts is that the guy is going on about how humble he is, while at the same time, showing of a rather inflated sense of self. What I'd give to think of myself that highly! ;-)

There, now don't you feel just a bit more sane? (or, shall I say, "a little less crazy?")

Finally, have a LOLcat for reading this rambling of mine:

Dear Canadia -

I love you and your over-the-counter drugs. Where else can I get my allergy drugs for about $20 less than I'd pay through my insurance every month; muscle relaxers that work quite nicely; and the bottles of 400 mg Advil?

And I love the Canadians that I know, as they are quite awesome.

Thanks Canada.

Cheers,

- Me

I was a pretty bad girl over the weekend ... drank on Friday and Saturday nights, and Sunday morning.

Okay, so it was just one drink each time ... but still. Typically, I just share a drink with Kellie, or when I have one of my own, it's a rare instance. The last time I *really* drank, I was living in St. Louis, and usually drank on Thursday nights (hello Non Prophets shows at the Hi-Pointe!) - and on some occasions, I'd have 2-3 drinks, usually Rolling Rock beers.

Nothing happened, but I'm not going to take my chances. I'll still keep the drinking to those rare occasions - in other words, maybe once a month or so.

{For the record, the best drink was someone else's: The Swing Low Sling at Luna Park. A mix of gin, lemon juice, guava nectar and cherry syrup. If I can mix up a "dry" version, I will post a recipe - in the meantime, I'll work on my mad skillz as a mad scientist.}

Yeah ... I have a feeling that my mom, and people I used to know from church, would be there. (My mom probably knows I'm queer ... and is either okay with it, or is in severe denial.)

Right now, I'm having a hate-hate relationship with my skin.

Besides the rosacea flare-up, I'm also dealing with being itchy all over my arms, neck and a few random spots on my face. I have no clue where it came from, just that it makes me feel like taking a bath in Calamine lotion.

I'll have to wait until I get home to slather on the hydrocortisone cream and/or take a shower with the Aveeno oatmeal bath/shower gel.

In the meantime, I'm going to do what I can to keep from scratching myself all to hell.

Today, Kellie and I, along with our friends Jenny (and her girlfriend, Amber and Nikki - one of Jenny's friends), Jeska and Hadar went to brunch at a restaurant in the Lower Haight called "Kate's Kitchen". The restaurant is pretty non-descript, but there's always a crowd queued up for brunch on Sundays because the food is *really* good. The selections ran the gamut from oatmeal to French toast to corned beef hash with eggs, as well as "hush puppies", basically fried cornbread balls served with "Pooh Butter" (honey butter), shared among the group.

After brunch, it was into the Upper Haight (the Haight-Ashbury area) for shopping, where I got these excellent shoes:

My new shoes! Since the other Keds shoes that I wanted weren't available in my size ... I got these, which are just as awesome. :-)

Kind of an aside - I finished the 2nd Harry Potter book on Friday, now to start on the 3rd book! :-)

So, that's the good stuff.

The not-so-great stuff is that I'm starting to have a rosacea flare-up. I've been breaking out, my face gets flaming red at the weirdest times, and I've got a sore spot (almost like a friction spot) on the bridge of my nose, near my eye. That makes wearing my glasses a bit uncomfortable. Back to using the Metrogel and the Minocycline to clear up the break-outs.

Ah well. It happens. Not as often as it did in the past, but it's still there.

[livejournal.com profile] icedmaple - I'm sure that you've probably noticed the sudden absence of an entry in [livejournal.com profile] icecreamhdaches's blog.

I'm guessing that pressure from the level heads (read - anyone over the age of 18 and/or anyone against spamming) in the group caused that downfall. And, surprisingly enough, nothing has been said about the entry being 86'ed. Maybe it was our talk of making lists of idiots that are deserving of a face-stabbing or something. *eg*

In our house, it's been decided that anytime Matt Damon needs money, he makes another Jason Bourne film.

However, last night when this was discussed, I thought Kellie had said, "Jason Porn".

So, in response, I got: "Well, if he *really* needs the money, then it's the 'Jason Porn' films!"

Yep, I had my hair cut on Thursday afternoon - got to discuss Harry Potter and FOB slash with Travis (my lovely bear stylist), as well as Patrick Stump's potential as a cub. *g*

It's all cute and kinda spiky - and I like it.

Today, it was coloring day. So after my hair was colored and styled, I had this "boom Anime boy" kind of look - as though I were a lesbian version of Pete Wentz or something. Minus the guyliner, tattoos and waifish body.

Still, I like my hair - check it out here!

Cute hair on a reasonably cute girl! )

As many problems as I've had with religion (especially Christianity), I will say that when I heard about Revolution NYC - the church led by Jay Bakker (yes, Jim and Tammy Faye's son), I thought it sounded like a good alternative.

When I was listening to one of the sermons via iPod, I loved that the minister (Marc Brown for this one) started the sermon with "I hope you don't mind that I'm drinking a beer...". I just thought, "I Love You!"

Sure, I've tried an all-gay church (MCC), but it felt a bit exclusionary (if that's even a word) - it was never said, it just felt that way. I like that Revolution is gay-affirming (including a gay pastor) and welcoming of so many different backgrounds and opinions. Also, they support equal rights - which is also quite awesome.

And the icon? A t-shirt sold by Revolution. :-D

Yes, there was a power outage in San Francisco. No, it didn't affect me.

Basically, it hit the downtown/Financial District area(s). Power was out for a lot of companies and websites, some of the transit systems, too.

And, as you all may have noticed, the servers for Craigslist; LiveJournal; Yelp; and the PC World and Mac World websites, among others - were affected, resulting in the websites being down for several hours. {Edited to add the PC World/Mac World websites ... as Kellie reminded me.}

Now, everything is back to normal ... or something like it.

According to Valleywag, the rumour is that the outage was caused by a drunk employee who came into work, pissed off and fucked up a whole mess of things. Including websites galore.

My birthday is coming up next week - and while in the past I was cool about getting older, this year, it just feels weird. I'm not dreading the upcoming birthday (34) - but at the same time, I'm just feeling like, "damn, I'm getting old, aren't I?"

I remember thinking that 34 was old - and here I am. Another year older, and another year of living. Granted, there's a lot of things that I haven't done, that my peers have done ... but I'm okay with that.

That's all I have to say right now. Just wanted to get that off my chest. :-)

Today, Kellie, Jenny (our friend/houseguest) and I went to Body Manipulations to get assorted ear piercings: I had a helix/orbital done; Kellie got her tragus done; and Jenny has orbital piercings in her lobes.

These are my piercing pics )

I'm sure that I can get pics of Jenny and Kellie's piercings, to show them off, too. :-)

Edit: Here are the pictures of Jenny and Kellie's work. More holes in our heads! )
