I was a pretty bad girl over the weekend ... drank on Friday and Saturday nights, and Sunday morning.

Okay, so it was just one drink each time ... but still. Typically, I just share a drink with Kellie, or when I have one of my own, it's a rare instance. The last time I *really* drank, I was living in St. Louis, and usually drank on Thursday nights (hello Non Prophets shows at the Hi-Pointe!) - and on some occasions, I'd have 2-3 drinks, usually Rolling Rock beers.

Nothing happened, but I'm not going to take my chances. I'll still keep the drinking to those rare occasions - in other words, maybe once a month or so.


{For the record, the best drink was someone else's: The Swing Low Sling at Luna Park. A mix of gin, lemon juice, guava nectar and cherry syrup. If I can mix up a "dry" version, I will post a recipe - in the meantime, I'll work on my mad skillz as a mad scientist.}

Rolling Rock is my beer of choice out here. Weak enough to keep me from getting too blasted, but not nasty enough (Old Style, anyone?) to give me a stomach ache. My alcohol consumption has dipped dramatically in the last year, but I put it off to being old. I just don't have the interest in drinking that I once did.

Never had Old Style ... and it's probably better that way!

Yeah, my drinking was pretty infrequent, but when I was living in the midwest, I was more inclined towards drinking ... probably to forget about my shitty job and my family getting on my ass about moving out west.

Agreed.

The bad news, from my friend Tyson, is that Lisa (the Hi-Pointe's owner) sold the bar in late 2005, or 2006. So, it is no longer! :-(

Still, there were good times - it was my dive bar of choice - and I have no idea if there is still a bar in that place, or what happened!
