Good Eats, Indeed!
Apr. 14th, 2004 08:10 pmAlton Brown rocks my girlie soul. I already have a serious thing for smart men - but a smart man that can cook, and tell me all kinds of information about the food he's preparing ... well, my heart's all a-flutter now!
If you have cable, and can get The Food Network, check out Good Eats sometime my lovelies. Sure, it's still re-runs from the past couple of years - but I love that it's giving me a chance to learn about food: How to cook it, where it comes from, what you should look for in the cooking utensils to prepare the food. Even the biology/botany/chemistry of various foods.
So yes, I *heart* Alton Brown and his somewhat geeky ways. I love that I can watch a show about food/cooking and come away feeling quite smart. That he presents everything intelligently - but never in a way that makes you feel utterly confused, or talked down to. He makes cooking and food fun, which it should be.
