I was fussing with my nails today - my nail polish is peeling, about 3 days post-manicure - and I thought of something from my childhood: peel-off nail polish.

Does anyone else remember this? Typically it was under the "Tinkerbell" brand, and usually came in 'sheer pink' - kind of like a tinted top coat, or sometimes even in "actual colors" like pink and some shade of peachy-orange.

Fun stuff. I think I painted my nails (and peeled off the polish) at least a few times a day! I kind of wish that they made it for adults - that would be quite fun. :-)

Okay ... so I checked it out, and it turns out that they make it for "grown-ups", too!

Sure it's all nice and environmentally-friendly, and "good for the body", but I refuse to give up my lust for Chanel Nail Polish, especially in the classic Vamp shade. And I'm not parting with my OPI - Lincoln Park After Dark either!

*appears suddenly* Did someone say nail polish?

I think I heard that HBG's regular nail polish needed a special remover, but I don't think I know of anyone who has actually used it. I've actually been able to peel my regular OPI polish off, and it did leave my poor nail beds looking a bit dry. I dunno if HBG's do the same thing, though.

And don't pay retail for OPI! http://www.head2toebeauty.com/ , http://www.8ty8beauty.com/ ! H2T is probably the better choice because they're slightly closer to you. And because Tony at 8ty8 isn't as nice as Tom from 8ty8 and Tony's been answering e-mails lately. :-/

If there's a color you really like and you have $19 burning a hole in your pocket, Chanels aren't bad. But they ain't OPI, that's for sure!
