Stupid rhetorical question of the week

Sometimes, the strangest thoughts pop into my head.
This week, I've been trying to figure this one out: Once upon a time, Dave Mustaine (Megadeth) was in Metallica, but was kicked out because of a drug problem. My question is this: how many drugs are *too many* drugs to a band that was once nicknamed "Alcoholica"?
That's all.

And the only number I can think of is "Infinity + 1" ... and even that isn't enough!

Date: 2005-07-23 04:16 pm (UTC)you know, I always did wonder why the Beatles broke up?? I remember being sad as a kid when I heard about it...one of my brother's told me it was over "creative differences" and I think I responded, "but whyyyyyy?" in typical kid fashion!

Date: 2005-07-23 04:35 pm (UTC)My husband pieced together, from bootlegs mostly, all of the available audio from the filming of the Get Back (later known as Let It Be) sessions, and listening to it you can really get a feel for how they weren't really working as a band much any more. It was more like three guys doing their own thing...and Ringo. (Who does a little of his own thing, too, during the sessions--he starts writing "Octopus's Garden," with a little help from George.) George's quitting the band happens during these sessions, too. It's very strange and surreal. Unfortunately, the Get Back sessions fill 35 CDs, and listening to it is incredibly tedious--especially during the hours when Yoko is screeching. And screeching...and screeching....
