cat herding!!

Somehow, I'm not sure how it happened ... the kidlets got out of the apartment.
I could've sworn up and down that I shut the door completely when I came home from work, but apparently not, as a few minutes ago, I heard this lowing meow of a kitty in distress.
Assuming the worst, and expecting to find Cleo or Teak balled up in a corner, seriously wounded or puking up internal organs, I didn't see either cat in the place. Instead, I saw the door at least halfway opened, and at the other end of the hallway, Teak roaming around, trying to figure out where he lives. Cleo was in the stairwell, mewing and lowing, his tail frizzed out - apparently the world had gotten way too big and scary for him.
After walking Teak halfway down the hall, I picked him up and dropped him in the apartment, then closed the door (making sure to hear the "click" of the door shutting), before going to get the wigged-out Cleo.
While Teak was pretty easy to retrieve, Cleo was a little harder, as he was in that defensive mode: back arched, paws extended, etc. So, I did what I could to calm him down by petting him and telling him that we were going home, so he would be alright. Once I got him inside with Teak, he did calm down, because the world wasn't as big and scary - and his buddy was with him.
In the meantime, I got to deal in Cat Herding. Thankfully, it was only two escaped kitties - and they were easily retrieved.
