Being a huge dork, today I finally heard of Curtis Joseph's signing on with the Detroit Red Wings. My initial reaction (as it seems to be with a lot of things lately) was to start laughing, because it's like CuJo was getting nostalgic for his tenure with the St. Louis Blues, and had to play with Brett Hull again. ;)
Hell, if we could get Adam Oates on the team - it would hearken back to the magic of "Hull and Oates" in the early 90s. What about Brendan Shannahan? If nothing else, he had a few of my friends almost creaming their jeans in college. So what if it's Detroit? I'd be happy to cheer for the Red Wings with a lot of the names I remember from way back when with St. Louis.
(Going back to Tyler on this one ... if the Toronto Maple Leafs ever play the Detroit Red Wings, poor Ty's gonna be almost schizo by the end of the 2nd period! Or maybe he'll adopt my tactic for cheering on teams in playoff games - i.e., World Series, Superbowl, etc. - when a home team isn't playing: "Go whichever team's winning!" Okay, maybe not.) I still got a kick out of the whole idea, though.
