I swear, I'm not making it up. According to Christian circles, Hot Saucing the tip of your wee bairn's tongue is the way to punish them - without really punishing them.
What does this mean? Well, besides McIlhenny experiencing a spike in their sales - due to Upstanding Christian Parents using Tabasco in an almost sadistic manner - there will be the spawn of those Upstanding Christian Parents, afraid of anything beyond the utterly banal for the rest of their days, associating it (in an almost-Pavlovian sense) with punishment and negativity.
So, I leave it to you all to discuss, debate and decimate. Hot Saucing: Legitimate Punishment Method - or Borderline Child Abuse?
