A Dig Against Americans?

Just when I thought
beautifulcurves had its share of drama-divas, it seems that the
ww_users community has a few people that have lost brain cells along with their pounds. All names have been changed to protect those involved, and no grammatical errors have been corrected - as much as it pained me in one or two instances.
Canadian Gal: "Now tell me to not gorge myself on peas! and carrots! A little bit, often - I strive to eat like a European - seated, slowly, small portions of diverse things, homemade by someone I can hug*. I am so lucky to be Canadian, which is culturally so much more European than American - with so much fresh wonderful produce and whole foods and natural choices available to me, coupled with my own cooking skills, common sense, and healthy appreciation for nature -I refuse to adopt any radical fad that banishes a macronutrient group entirely!"
American Gal: and the little dig at americans??? my only response to that immature dig is:
Don't hate. Congratulate!"
Me: "In defense of a veritable stranger ... as an American, I don't see that above comment (CG's) as being a dig against Americans. There's nothing wrong with being proud of where you're from - and the diversity afforded in that country. :)"
AG: "It was a total dig - she was trying to propose that being european-esque was so much better than being american-esque in diet, which i'd argue. i spent the last year in miami, florida, and have traveled extensively to europe (i have no use for canada), and from my experiences, the quality of produce in america is comparable if not exceptional to what you could find somewhere else."
Well, slap me silly and call me "Judy", but the last I checked, the American-esque diet was doing more harm than good, hence the constant crowing in the media about the Obesity Epidemic.
And I *love* the snarky comment about how "I have no use for Canada". Well, dear, I'm sure that Canada has no use for you, either. So why don't you stop waving your American flag around like it's a shield of some kind, expecting the world to kiss your ass because you're American and therefore superior to everyone else in the world. Your haughtiness irritates me.
Besides, I'd rather hang with someone like the Canadian Gal, who has the right idea about food, and doesn't come across as haughty or superior about being Canadian.
*Also, I like it when people quote Alton Brown - the comment about eating food that is homemade, prepared by someone that you can hug, was in response to the film Supersize Me.
