Nov. 22nd, 2004 09:31 amIt's Monday, and I'm here at work for the three-day work week. The bandages were reduced from 9 or 10 all over my hands, arms and leg to four on the more serious of the cuts and wounds on my fingers.
The scary thing is that I had a shard of glass right on top of a cut on my thumb. I'd assumed that it was a pretty deep cut, initially, only to find when I was cleaning up with peroxide the next day, that it was glass - and a small cut with bruising.
My left pinky seemed to get the worst injury - but I'm alright. Still here, alive and kicking ass. Just having a little trouble typing with the bandaging on my finger.
Otherwise, I attempted to take a shower yesterday - very awkward, as it involved me wearing my cheapy "locker-room shower thongs" in MY OWN DAMN SHOWER - just in case there are any rogue shards of glass that didn't get cleaned up the other night.
To spare you the details, I'll just say that it was no fun, and an improvised sponge bath really sucks. I will be so glad when the door gets replaced - or we just break down and buy a cheap liner to stand in for the broken door.
Thank you to everyone for the kind words and thoughts - I appreciate them all! :-)
