About Last Night
Nov. 20th, 2004 12:40 pmLast night, Kellie was having a really hellish day, so I wanted to do something nice - and perhaps even a little romantic - for her. So, I decided to get a hot bath going for her, complete with candles.
In the process of crumbling a bubble bar for the bathwater, I bumped the interior shower door off its track. Not wanting to ruin the surprise, I kept the door shut, and scrambled to get the door back in track. While struggling, it didn't work out, and all of a sudden
CRASH!!
I'm standing in scented, bubbly water, which is now filled with shards of glass. My hands are bloodied, my right leg is nicked up and I'm simultaneously freaked out and upset that my good plans had been shot all to hell.
Kellie heard the crash, and assumed that I'd had a seizure. She came in, cleared a path for me so I could get out of the glass-filled tub, and cleaned up my wounds.
After getting me cleaned up, we worked together to clean up the glass in the bathroom. She called the building manager to report that the door was broken - and we were cleaning up the mess. Once the glass was swept up from outside of the tub, we took turns bailing out the bathtub, to get the water down before taking a litter scooper to scoop out larger shards of glass.
Once the glass was cleaned up (well, to the best of our abilities), the bag that we were using ended up splitting, with glass ending up ALL OVER THE FLOOR. So, I grabbed up a box, and put it into a plastic bag, then set about to cleaning up again.
Thankfully, after getting the glass cleaned up, that was that. Of course, this morning, I was still finding a few random shards of glass on the bathroom floor - so I refuse to go in there barefoot.
For the record, I'm feeling alright, my hands are bandaged up - and yes, I made sure to have cool band-aids. :-)
And how was your Friday night?
