Friday Update
Apr. 16th, 2004 03:11 pmToday has been a good day so far. So why do I feel like just breaking down and crying?
Perhaps it's just the only way I can release everything that's happened/is happening/could happen - in a somewhat reasonable way. Rather than binging (ohhhh man, Just Desserts and Jelly Belly were damn near calling my name last night) to celebrate the good times - or whatever else I could do ... I don't really know. (Obviously, I'm just rambling right now - don't mind me)
The good stuff - I had a 2nd interview with my agency of choice. This time, it was a phone interview with the agency owner - which went rather well, if I say so myself. Especially since when I was being told about the building they are moving into, I was told that "...your office will be on the 2nd floor, while the kitchen is on the 1st floor. Is that a problem for you?" That was a pretty good sign. Also, we discussed the benefits, salary, my past attendance record, etc.
Apparently, it was all a good thing, because Bill tried to call me three times, while I was at lunch with friends. When I finally called him back, he said that according to S., my contact at the agency, the agency owner was quite impressed with me as well - and S. thinks that I could learn a lot about the California insurance market by working there. *glee* I will find out the verdict by the middle of next week - apparently S. has an interview with someone on Monday, and she wants to go ahead with the interview (as a courtesy) - but I am looking really good as far as they're concerned.
Next, good news on the family front. My stepdad was released from the hospital last night - although he was apparently a little over-hydrated, as he was having some trouble breathing from the fluid on his lungs. So, he has taken some Lasix to help that ... and hopes are that he will stay out of the hospital for good, or at least for several months more!
As for the suspected infection, blood cultures came back negative, although he was told that as soon as he experiences fever/chills/sweats, he should get to the doctor ASAP, as those are signs of an infection trying to bully its way into his system again. (Yes, that would be my professional "medical-ese").
As for WW this week - I gained a pound. It happens ... and I'm guessing that Kellie's loss somehow ended up on me. Ah well, this is a new day and a new week. Another chance to try again - gain, lose, maintain - whichever the case may be. As you can guess, I'm gunning for a loss - although maintaining is fine, too.
I will write more later - in the meantime, have a great afternoon/evening/weekend my lovelies!
