Okay, so right now, I can't think of a subject line - yet, I do have a bit to say. :)
The other weekend, Kellie and I went to San Jose to visit our friends Nick and Jeska, which was quite fun. We went to the San Jose Museum of Art (a lot of fun), as well as driving out to Santa Cruz to eat at The Saturn and walk around for a while. Somewhere along the line, I ended up getting a rip in my favorite denim skirt. :(Yeah, I think Nick and Jes - as well as many people from Santa Cruz and the multitudinous visitors - got an unplanned peek at my scanties. By the time I got home, the rip went from mid-thigh to waist, so Kellie was walking behind me, literally covering my ass.
Last week was the LA/Vegas road trip, which was also a lot of fun. We were staying in a hotel off Sunset Blvd., and I was nicely pink from sitting in the car all day (but not as pink as the boa that I'd be wearing that night - more on that soon). We got together with
divachickie and the diva hubby for her birthday dinner at the Olive Garden, which was delicious - good food, good company, what more could I ask for? Oh yeah - seeing BNL!
The concert was definitely fun, and thanks to
divachickie, I was wearing a hot pink boa that she'd loaned to me that night. I was in Geek Nirvana (or, Nerdvana for those playing along at home), and hearing "A" and "Powder Blue" really did it for me that night! We didn't get to meet the Ladies that night, but it's all good.
After the show, I saw Vanessa, whom I haven't seen or talked to in over a year. We got to chat for a little while, and were generally cordial to each other. No idea what will, or could, happen ... but I'm not going to worry over it.
The next day, we headed off to Vegas (and I found out after the fact that
zigme was at the show with some friends). Before leaving town, we went to a Weight Watchers meeting in Hollywood. Thankfully, the meeting wasn't full of supernova skinny Stepford Wives as we'd feared - and we did see Kevin Nealon, who stopped by for a weigh-in. As for my weigh-in, i'd had a bad-girl week because I wasn't writing things down, so I went up 2 lbs. This week, I'm hoping will be better.
Anyways, en route to Vegas, we got caught up in traffic and our drive was almost twice as long as planned. We were cursed with little time to get dressed and ready for the show, and go out for dinner - which sucked, yet we managed quite well.
The show in Vegas was awesome - especially since we had front-row seats (Ed side). I was able to get pictures of Ed for Taylor, and hopefully they'll come out better than my prior pictures (from St. Louis in October)! Post-show, we tried to meet the band, but ended up with the ass clowns in Venue Security chasing us out, threatening to call in the cops and have us arrested for trespassing. When we found out that the band had gone to a bar, we decided to head home (to the hotel), but not before taking a drive down the Strip at 1 a.m.
The next day, we were leaving Las Vegas and going home to San Francisco. On the way home, we stopped in Calico - a ghost town, and went to some outlet shops in Barstow. Granted, we didn't get back into town until in the evening, but it was a fun road trip. A hell of a lot less painful than my prior road trips, too! Probably because instead of driving like crazy to get to our destination as soon as possible, we did take a somewhat leisurely pace, stopping every now & again to check out various roadside attractions.
I'll write more later - in the meantime, Kellie needs to get back to work & needs her desk back, and I need to go to the post office to drop something off, as well as pick something up!
Have a great day, my lovelies - and be good to each other.
