I hate when that happens
May. 4th, 2003 09:10 pmHere I was, going along with my life, managing to have been seizure-free for almost 4 months (if I'm not mistaken) when I had a minor one this evening in my living room.
Perhaps it was due to come, because I'd had times at work where I may have been having breakthrough seizures - where I'd seem to slip out of it for a few seconds and appear to be daydreaming, only to come to and feel like nothing happened ... but suspecting that something did. :-/
Now, I don't know if I'd had breakthrough seizures - and I don't want to play self-medication games. (Yet, I've done that with my depression ... go figure!) And yes, I know that my drinking on Friday night probably didn't help matters much either. The funny thing is, I didn't get smacked with anything that felt remotely like a hangover until about 24 hours later, when I woke up from a nap with a killer headache.
(Before anyone jumps on my case about drinking - it's not something I do on a regular basis. More often than not, I'm content to drink something non-alcoholic, but Friday night, I guess I was feeling brave and I'd kept saying that the plan was to be drinking on Company X's money (which we did, via their American Express gift checks). Then, later in the evening, I went to Outback & got a Wallaby Darned - basically Bacardi Fuzzy Navel mix with ice, Champagne, Smirnoff Vodka and Peach Schnapps. Good stuff - and I stayed with one, as by the time I finished that one, I felt a bit numb in spots and almost wobbly in others. Just tipsy enough to know that I should stop now if I wanted to get home in one piece. So, yes, this might be my paying the price for pretending that I was a party girl the other night.)
Now, I think I'm going to get my ass into bed. Seizures can make a girl drowsy - even if there is no real physical motion, just the brain synapses firing every which way.
