I really do need a hobby...

Maybe I just think way too much, but this afternoon, I was thinking about the film Sixteen Candles. You know the scene where Long Duck Dong tells Jake that Samantha "went to the church to get mah-reed"?

I want to know, how did Jake even know which church it was? Do they only have one church in Shermer, IL? Did he just drive all over the city looking for churches that were obviously hosting (or is it holding?) weddings? Or did he somehow find the wedding announcement in the paper?

Inquiring minds want to know. Any ideas or theories? Anyone?

I prefer to think of it as a small town, whether or not it really exists, and whether or not it IS small...but, in that type of town, I picture that everyone sort of grew up together and just kinda knows who does what and where...I know churches are a personal family choice that kids maybe don't always advertise, but I would like to think that there weren't that many in their 16 Candles town and he didn't have much trouble finding her...

I like to ponder these things too...I go so far as to get outraged sometimes over details that are impossible, mostly in action pix, and my ex husband used to say, "It's just a movie!"

But still...I want my details to be detailed, yanno?!
