I'm guessing that pressure from the level heads (read - anyone over the age of 18 and/or anyone against spamming) in the group caused that downfall. And, surprisingly enough, nothing has been said about the entry being 86'ed. Maybe it was our talk of making lists of idiots that are deserving of a face-stabbing or something. *eg*

Date: 2007-08-04 01:37 am (UTC)Sellout really should be banned - unless it's reference to a concert being sold out. Besides, when I hear people whining "sellout!", all I can think of is something that James Hetfield (Metallica) had said in response to people calling the band "sellouts": "Damn right we sell out! Every night and every show!"
The fandom being kept separate from the people involved is a great idea - especially since a lot of the fandom can be squealing and ridiculous ... and it's enough to be face-to-face with it as much as they are. I don't know ... maybe I'm just old. ;)

Date: 2007-08-05 08:52 pm (UTC)I ♥ James Hetfield.
I have my squealy ridiculous moments, but I like to keep them away from the people causing the ridiculous squealy. Pete really doesn't need to know that every time he fangirls Patrick, I flail and make noises only dogs can hear ... unless it'll make him fangirl Patrick more.

Date: 2007-08-05 10:15 pm (UTC)I have my squealing fangirl moments, too (who doesn't?) - much easier for me to engage in those moments at home or online. Besides, when I've been face-to-face with someone that causes squealing fangirlness (Steven Page of Barenaked Ladies), I've actually managed to be respectful and not get all silly and squealy.
If Pete heard from us that his fangirling Patrick resulted in flailing and noises that dogs 5 miles away can hear, he'd either freak out - or really lay on the fangirling.

Date: 2007-08-11 07:49 pm (UTC)Yes, I like to limit my fangirling to shows while with other fans or in the comfort of my own home. But I really don't want to be all "EEEEEEEE! OMG! *flail* EEEEEEEEE!" around them. I may have babbled like an idiot when I met FOB, but I do that in a lot of social situations, and I may have been talking a little louder than necessary but that's because it was after the show and I was slightly deaf. But I did not squeal or flail.
