[livejournal.com profile] icedmaple - I'm sure that you've probably noticed the sudden absence of an entry in [livejournal.com profile] icecreamhdaches's blog.

I'm guessing that pressure from the level heads (read - anyone over the age of 18 and/or anyone against spamming) in the group caused that downfall. And, surprisingly enough, nothing has been said about the entry being 86'ed. Maybe it was our talk of making lists of idiots that are deserving of a face-stabbing or something. *eg*

*facepalm* I don't want Pete to find it. And if he does know about it, I really don't want to know. And I really, really don't want it mentioned in the Q&A.

There's already enough stupid in the comments now. There are more than enough "ZOMG! ILU! Marry me Peeeeeeeeet!!!1!!" comments now. I don't think I could handle all the cringing it being mentioned by Pete on FOBR would bring. My face would get stuck in permanent cringe mode.

Same here!

The recent cries of "Sellout!!" would send him on a rampage. Not to mention the fact that some of the teenie fangirls are getting squicked because shock! horror! Pete has body hair. (Really.)

Isn't it enough that he (apparently) knows about the slash - and may be reading it?

Liek, OH MY GAWD, he's 28 years old and he has body hair! He has gone through puberty! The horror, the absolute horror!

Sellout needs to be banned from the English language. It gets thrown around way too much and it's usually by a bunch of whiny morons pissed they aren't the only one who knows about band XYZ. Oh noez, my favorite band is actually being paid for all their hard work and other people are realizing they have talent! This is unacceptable! They must have sold out!

I get so tempted to turn comments off there because it wouldn't be all that difficult for him to find it. And, really, the stupid hurts my brain.

I'm totally down with fangirling and slash and all that jazz, but I like to keep the fandom part separate from the people the fandom is about. I know he knows about slash, but I don't think anyone needs to be sending him links to the porn.

Yep ... quite a shocker to that bunch. Don't even get them started on Patrick's drunken karaoke, either! (Heaven forbid they go through puberty, drink and (oh no!) just do things any other adult human may do!)

Sellout really should be banned - unless it's reference to a concert being sold out. Besides, when I hear people whining "sellout!", all I can think of is something that James Hetfield (Metallica) had said in response to people calling the band "sellouts": "Damn right we sell out! Every night and every show!"

The fandom being kept separate from the people involved is a great idea - especially since a lot of the fandom can be squealing and ridiculous ... and it's enough to be face-to-face with it as much as they are. I don't know ... maybe I'm just old. ;)

On noez! He's 23 and he drinks! He didn't even seem that horribly drunk. Maybe years of Ozzfest concerts has desensitized me to the horror of being drunk, but it just doesn't seem like a big deal to me. More focusing on Patrick singing karaoke and less focus on how much alcohol he may have consumed!

I ♥ James Hetfield.

I have my squealy ridiculous moments, but I like to keep them away from the people causing the ridiculous squealy. Pete really doesn't need to know that every time he fangirls Patrick, I flail and make noises only dogs can hear ... unless it'll make him fangirl Patrick more.

I agree - there's far more to worry about than Patrick's drinking! I've seen too many fangirls yelling and bitching about "Pete's breaking Edge" and "Patrick's drinking ... OMFG". I'll try to keep from rolling my eyes too far back into my head.

I have my squealing fangirl moments, too (who doesn't?) - much easier for me to engage in those moments at home or online. Besides, when I've been face-to-face with someone that causes squealing fangirlness (Steven Page of Barenaked Ladies), I've actually managed to be respectful and not get all silly and squealy.

If Pete heard from us that his fangirling Patrick resulted in flailing and noises that dogs 5 miles away can hear, he'd either freak out - or really lay on the fangirling.

Dear fangirls, alcohol is not evil.

Yes, I like to limit my fangirling to shows while with other fans or in the comfort of my own home. But I really don't want to be all "EEEEEEEE! OMG! *flail* EEEEEEEEE!" around them. I may have babbled like an idiot when I met FOB, but I do that in a lot of social situations, and I may have been talking a little louder than necessary but that's because it was after the show and I was slightly deaf. But I did not squeal or flail.

I prefer to do the same thing - keep the fangirling to the "appropriate" venues. And I know that I would totally either babble like an idiot, or just stand there appearing to be petrified by shyness.

Besides, I already get plenty of grief from my girlfriend for the fangirling (and the slashfics, and my crush on Patrick...) so I'm used to not being loud and obnoxious!! :)
