Some completely random crap

Recently, I became an official Californian. I *finally* got a California state ID - after living here almost 18 months. Yeah, I know ... total slackerdom on my part. Also, I think there were the horror stories about the DMV, and the never-ending queues. The idea of waiting 4 hours to get a piece of plastic that would render me an official resident just felt asinine. Besides, my Missouri ID doesn't expire until 2010.
So, a couple of weeks ago, when I was taking the day off for doctor's appointments anyways, I made an appointment online with the DMV. Got there 20 minutes earlier than my scheduled time - and from start to finish, was only there for about a half-hour. So those horror stories, for me, at least - were unfounded. Thank goodness.
I've come to the realization that while turning 30 was no big deal, anything after the age of 31 is out to do me in. Between my falling at Pride (which aggravated an old cartilage tear), the gallbladder surgery two months ago, and a rotator cuff injury of some kind ... I'm falling apart here! :-/ Here's hoping that turning 32 will not be so damned bumpy.
Yes, I'm growing my hair out. It's in that awkward in-between stage, the stage where I'm usually rushing to the salon and getting it cut off because I'm so frustrated with it. And in the past, I'd always get some awful soccer-mom 'do, because I didn't really know any better ... and that's usually how I'd end up stying any remotely cool haircut. Because I'd always think that I want some cute 'do, when all I want is something easy and low-maintenance.
Anywho ... right now, it's in layers - with the sides right below my ears, almost along my jawline - going towards the back, which is almost to my shoulders, and the bangs are down to my nose. So, to put it simply, it's kind of in a growing-out shag style, a bit like Leisha Hailey on The L Word. It's so weird to have hair at this length, especially since it's never been this long in almost 25 years. Seriously.
Well, that's all, my lovelies ... it sounds like the groceries are finally being delivered. So, I should be herding the cats and getting ready to clear the table (again)!
