This is the first day of my attempt at food logging/ confessing my sins ... whatever I decide to call it.

Medium Hibiscus Tea Cooler - 2
Fat-Free Vegan Apricot/Currant Scone - 4

Medium Black Tea Lemonade - 2

Lunch
Half-salad with chicken and goat cheese - 5
Plain soy yogurt - 3

Zucchini Bread - 3

Dinner
Grilled Ahi & Swordfish Skewers w/vegetables - 4
Pear Salad - 4
Dressing - 3
Coca-Cola - 4

Dessert
1/3 Vegan German Chocolate Cake - 3
1/4 cup Soy Ice Cream - 2
Medium Soy Cocoa - 3

Total Points Used: 41

I got in all my water, about 4 of my fruit/vegetable servings, and all of my dairy requirements. I even took my multi-vitamin this morning. :) Did I mention that I earned about 6 Activity Points from walking around all day - and this evening?

So, yeah ... I did tap into my FlexPoints (I get 35 in a week, to use - or not - however I see fit.) But, tomorrow is another day - and another log. And I did enjoy the food I ate - and really, that's what is most important.

Well, I'm on Weight Watchers (lost about 32 lbs. in 6 months so far ... with way more to go), and instead of counting calories, foods and drinks have "points". Depending on your current weight range, you get a specific number of points per day - in my case, it's 28.

Within that point range, you also get a Points Allowance of 35 - which can be used, as I did yesterday when I went out for dinner and dessert - or not. Also, people can earn Activity Points, which can be used towards the daily Points - I just use mine as a slush fund, if something happens and I underestimate a value on a food, so I don't get too screwed up.

That's probably as clear as mud, I'm sure ... hehe.

Oh I know it's not a sin! I was just joking around, really. :)

And thanks! (I didn't know you were on WW - hopefully it's working for you, too!)

Yeah - it takes time, and all seems to fall into place.

For some people, they lose weight so quickly and easily - while others take several months to lose their first 5 pounds.

I think that it is healthier when it takes time to come off - even though it's a pain in the ass in the meantime!

{Something that really helps is to celebrate the NSVs - Non-Scale Victories. Little things, like getting into a smaller clothing size, walking further distances without getting winded, getting a better attitude towards food (that's a HUGE step - especially for me!), etc. It can be so easy to overlook those little things when we're focusing on the feedback from the Information Machine - and those little things can help to keep us going day after day!}

1) I totally stole your icon *giggles*
2) Thanks for the reminder that you have the non scale victorieds... I may not be going down in clothes yet but my attitude has changed and I was afraid it wouldn't... do I have my downfalls yes (Hi stress! meet chips and ice cream! yay good friends!) but it's better...*hugs* thanks:)

I think you may inspire me to return to WW. But not until after my wedding.

Do you often tap into your Flex Points? And, when you do, are you more or less successful at losing weight that week?

Well last week, I used all of my daily points, the Flex Points ... and probably even tapped into the Activity Points - and managed to lose 2 lbs.

Then again - this was the first time in a long time that I've actually tracked everything. I did well at first, then fell off the wagon really hard (got scared back into tracking when the scale was creeping perilously close to 250 ... not cool), so this is like starting all over again from Square One. :)
