Aug. 5th, 2007 10:03 pmToday, Kellie and I, along with our friends Jenny (and her girlfriend, Amber and Nikki - one of Jenny's friends), Jeska and Hadar went to brunch at a restaurant in the Lower Haight called "Kate's Kitchen". The restaurant is pretty non-descript, but there's always a crowd queued up for brunch on Sundays because the food is *really* good. The selections ran the gamut from oatmeal to French toast to corned beef hash with eggs, as well as "hush puppies", basically fried cornbread balls served with "Pooh Butter" (honey butter), shared among the group.
After brunch, it was into the Upper Haight (the Haight-Ashbury area) for shopping, where I got these excellent shoes:

My new shoes! Since the other Keds shoes that I wanted weren't available in my size ... I got these, which are just as awesome. :-)
Kind of an aside - I finished the 2nd Harry Potter book on Friday, now to start on the 3rd book! :-)
So, that's the good stuff.
The not-so-great stuff is that I'm starting to have a rosacea flare-up. I've been breaking out, my face gets flaming red at the weirdest times, and I've got a sore spot (almost like a friction spot) on the bridge of my nose, near my eye. That makes wearing my glasses a bit uncomfortable. Back to using the Metrogel and the Minocycline to clear up the break-outs.
Ah well. It happens. Not as often as it did in the past, but it's still there.
