I Can Dress Myself!
Jun. 23rd, 2004 11:08 amBefore I even get into that matter, I want to say thank you muchly to
azraelsdaisy for the gmail invite. I'll be getting that set up very soon, and between gmail and earthlink, I can finally drop AOHell. :-D
In other news, since I have been losing weight, my clothes are getting to where they no longer fit - they're too big!!
Attempting to find pants that fit, I find that I'm currently in No (wo)Man's Land, clothing-wise. I'm getting to where the plus-size clothes are too big for me, yet I'm not "small enough" for the Misses clothing, which typically goes up to a 14 or 16. (I'm in an 18/20) So, I am at a loss - especially since I really don't feel like spending an obscene amount of money on clothes that may not fit in 6 weeks or so!
Last night, I was really feeling more let down than necessary by the whole experience - but, meandering through 4 floors of women's clothing at Macy's to no avail, would do that to anyone ... even a woman with the strongest resolve!
Almost as a last-ditch effort, I went into Casual Corner, which carries some clothes up to a size 20 (under the August Max label). Thankfully, they were having a sale, and while I couldn't find any pants that caught my eye for anything, I did manage to find a beautiful floral print dress, on sale for $45.00 - originally $119.00. It's quite lovely - short-sleeved, v-neck, with the illusion of a wrap top and empire waist, somewhat fitted, hits below the knee and has a sheer black skirting, with a ruffle hem.
I felt very pretty in the dress, with all of its colors - black, orange, blue, red, green, as well as the fact that it didn't have me covered up like my prior dresses did.
