I stole this - rather unceremoniously - from Kellie's blog, because it was just too good to not share: Steven Page, Stunt Muffin in SF )

Well, I have to say that it wasn't just Steve that was in the mood for feeling quirky and slap-happy last night. In my case, maybe it was just the caffeine and the excitement over seeing sketches I haven't seen since September (try saying that three one times fast!), but I was in rare form, if I say so myself. Hell, I did get to spank Blaise - for slapping me on the leg a little too hard! (Yes, that may have been a bit harsh of a punishment ... but I'd wanted to smack Blaise's ass just for the hell of it.)

Later on, I had a guy comment on my "Boys Lie" t-shirt by asking me if that was what my breasts were named. I told him that no, I didn't have names for them. So, continuing on with the whole frisky mood I seemed to be in last night, I turned to the person at my immediate left - Tyson - and asked for his help. (Alright, so I wasn't *that* decorous ... it was more like me asking him to help me name my tits.) He came up with Monica & Tallulah - and Monica was quickly rejected. But, I do like "Tallulah". So, my right breast has been named, with the left still remaining in relative anonymity. ;) Despite the mood I was in, I ended up apologizing to Ty for putting him on the spot like that ... 'cause I'd hate for it to have been really awkward of me to ask that & all. (Honestly, could I be anymore of a friggin' Good Girl underneath it all?!?) Thankfully, he didn't mind (well, duh - he's a guy) and was glad to help. *eg*

No worries though, at the end of the night, I went home alone - and did manage to actually get up for work in the morning. So, here I am at work, kind of wishing that I was back in bed, sleeping.

Ah well. Can't get everything I want - and besides, I can sleep in tomorrow. Now, I really should get some of this junk off my desk, sent onto people or at least into our system.

Have a good day!

You know - I've come to terms with this about myself ... and it's okay. :)

I think everyone knows of somebody that's a big time Art House Movie Geektm - they're always on top of the cool Indie films, and going on and on about the virtues of certain actors (Steve Buscemi and Phillip Seymour Hoffman) and actresses (Lili Taylor and Parker Posey), yet deep down inside, they harbor this secret guilty love of mainstream films. Or Teen Sexploitation-type films. Or really bad horror films. You get the idea.

Well, I'm the opposite. I am perfectly okay in admitting that I *loved* films like Empire Records and PCU - and Kevin Smith's oeuvre truly rocked my soul. I still love those John Hughes films from the '80s, and the words "Zucker Abrams Zucker" automatically get me thinking of films like Airplane! and Naked Gun. But, deep down inside, I want to be cool and be able to discuss Kurosawa's oeuvre beyond "oh yeah, he did a lot of Samurai films!", or get into the cool art house movies and foreign films beyond my "just scratching the surface" exploration of those films.

In the meantime, I'm going to try and take my sister to see Elf tomorrow afternoon - because that's what cool siblings get to do ... be cool because they're not mom and dad. ;) And maybe some other night, I'll go out to see Die Mommie Die! just because it's an art house film & Jason Priestley is in it - and he's damn cute.

or however that little song from "Blue's Clues" goes.

Yesterday was a most excellent mail day for me - I had Christmas cards from [livejournal.com profile] tx_db8r and [livejournal.com profile] denimdoll - thank you both, gals! :) I also had a swell postcard from my friend Cori, who is currently in Australia and having an excellent time. And, most cool of all, I got an early Christmas present from Kellie - a Newcomer's Guide to San Francisco, with the VIPs (Very Important Places) highlighted, of course.

So yay for cool mail! :^D

And boo on near-interminable work days! :(
