Angel dear [livejournal.com profile] sweetlikesugar, I have no idea where you got that pic of BNL singing the Anthem at the Red Sox game, but oh my Gord ... Steve is just looking his usual sexy bitch self.

*ahem* Ah yes ... last night. It was a nicely silent night, just me watching Antiques Roadshow, then deciding to work on tackling some of the chores that had fallen to the wayside due to the recent stressors of work, family and life in general.

So, with Maxwell and Sade as my accompaniments, I put on my swell IKEA apron and washed the dishes, took out the trash and scrubbed out the bathtub. This time, I skipped the Sonata, deciding that I'd rather not go down that road again right away - and managed to get to sleep pretty well without it.

Things at work do feel a bit more hectic, as I've been taking up Patti's work while she's on her honeymoon, and now with half the department having quit, I'm just half-expecting all Hell to break loose or something. These are certainly the days (and weeks) that I look forward to the Non Prophets show - the temporary remedy for what drives me insane. ;)

Tonight, I will probably do some more cleaning - for some reason, it's oddly cathartic - and I may spend part of the evening with my favorite man growing up, Mr. Bubble. Yes, Mr. Bubble, candles and some tunes makes for a nicely relaxed girlie.

I spent the last two hours of the day as the entire Personal Lines department - how exciting. To bide my time, I ended up printing off a copy of [livejournal.com profile] sweetlikesugar's BNL pic, so I could have a reason to smile again ... and maybe a reason to write, should that inspiration ever come back around.

Tonight, I'm going home, doing some laundry and cleaning up around the place some more. Thrilling, I know, but it's a necessary evil at this point in time. And the odd thing is, like I'd said, cleaning the place up actually feels good. I know that I'll have to get my bedroom clean at some point, and I keep procrastinating on that, so I will work on getting the rest of my place taken care of ... and perhaps work on the bedroom piece by piece. Put up CDs one night, throw out the contents of a box another night, etc.

Finally ... Hi. American Politics have become a joke. We have the California Gubernatorial race, which to outsiders looks like a three-ring circus, replete with sideshow freaks. To the rest of the country, California has become a punchline yet again. Sucks to be y'all.

Then that Son of a Bush came up with the Protection of Marriage Act ... how fucking ironic is it that the people that are so gung-ho to protect marriage are the ones that can barely keep their own together? What are they afraid of, that those of us that are queer and wanting to get married and/or have the same benefits as heterosexual couples, are going to one-up them and do better at marriage than them? Sweet Jeebus.
