The past few days have been nothing short of eventful, to say the least.
( Family Update )
Otherwise, things are pretty good, I supppose. After two days of major searching, I found a dress for Rachelle's wedding - a beige dress with a black floral print (well, the floral print is more like outline sketching of the flowers). I even got to hit up a couple of cosmetics counters for ideas of how to do the make-up thing for the wedding.
Unfortunately, Christian Dior - while having a spiffy lipstick, had me in bronzer which did nothing for my currently bad skin and near-Suicide Girls complexion. Although, I am in lust with the gift I got for stopping by the counter - a credit-card sized compact with six different lipstick colors, a small mirror & brush (all in the compact).
Estee Lauder, while a good company - and also the parent company of my beloved Origins cosmetics - had given me Tammy Faye Bakker eyes. Uhhhh, yeah. Try again. Still, it was all in good fun, and it's something I haven't done in a long time (getting made up by the cosmetics ladies).
Although, the most fun was in going to Penzey's Spices yesterday and just wandering around, taking in the smells of all the spices. So many different, exotic spices I'd never heard of - and others I'd heard of but never experienced.
I ended up leaving with small jars of ground fennell, ground white pepper, cocoa & Korintje Cassia cinnamon (the stuff they sell in the grocery store, only a higher grade than McCormick's). It all smells so yummy - and if I cooked more often, I'd buy much more. In the meantime, I just picked up a few things to try - and things that are old stand-bys. (So if I ever get loopy in here - I'm probably busy snorting the cinnamon or the fennell ... they just smell that good!!)
And, that's all there is for now. I'll write about today, tomorrow ... after I've gotten rid of my headache & other grumpiness.
