Post-Grammy Goodness
Feb. 23rd, 2003 11:21 pmI was pleasantly surprised by this year's Grammy Awards. Probably the first time in a few years that I've actually sat and watched.
The best things were: Norah Jones kicking ass & taking names; the tributes to Maurice Gibb by *Nsync (I was pleasantly surprised) and The Clash by Dave Grohl, Elvis Costello & Bruce Springsteen; Coldplay and the New York Philharmonic; Eminem and The Roots; Norah Jones performing; John Mayer playing "Your Body Is A Wonderland" solo.
The "huh?" moments: Erykah Badu - who was just really fucking spacey and annoying. Fred Durst - is "agreeance" even a word, or is he just a knuckle-dragging, semi-literate, thick-necked waste of space? Kelly Rowlands' dress - I *hope* that was just something Beyonce's mama threw together for her, and not something she actually paid for. John Leguizamo - give up while you're ahead honey. And do you realize that you called yourself a "Spanish Faggot" on national TV? (hehe)
Apparently Sheryl Crow was looking nicely Botox-ed up - I wasn't paying attention, as I was tending to other things, like taking a few hundred Advil and praying for a hell of a lot of snow. I don't feel like going to work tomorrow.
Anyways, it was a pretty decent night. Now, I'm going to bed and praying for more snow.
