Well, my lovelies, I have made it. I am in San Francisco ... Sodom by the Bay. ;)

Unfortunately, since I'd spent the past week packing, cleaning, sorting & moving out of my apartment - I haven't been able to keep up with anyone's blogs, let alone my own! So, perhaps I should give you all an update on the past week.

I'd written about quitting my job on Monday - so there's that. The rest of the week wasn't all that eventful, so I guess that's a good thing.

Thursday night was my last Non Prophets show, and it was just like any other Thursday night, except for my taking eleventy billion pictures and getting a few more hugs and kisses from Tyson *g*. Ty mentioned his disappointment in nothing really being said about it being my last show - his theory being that they assumed that this coming Thursday was to be my last show. No worries there.

After the bar closed, I ended up hanging out with Josh at another nearby bar, which was actually very very cool. It gave me a chance to get to know Josh better, beyond the image of him as a party boy/funny man. Also, Josh is moving to Florida to attend FSU for graduate school in August - he'd gotten into an Acting/Theater program that only accepts 12 people (6 males/6 females) per year. So congratulations to Josh - I know that he'll go far!

Kellie was flying in on Friday afternoon, so I spent Friday morning cleaning up my room, as it was an unholy mess.

When I got out to the airport - 5 minutes after her flight was scheduled to come in - I found out that her flight was delayed by an hour and a half!! So, I ended up taking the train down to the locksmith's (I'd lost the combination to a lock on my storage area in the basement of the apartment) to get the combination looked up ($2.50 compared to $50 to get the lock cut off!). With that done, I went back to the airport, and was in time for Kellie's arrival.

My mom picked us up from the airport, which helped A LOT - especially since she was delivering some extra boxes for me. From there, we'd gotten a bit settled in and changed clothes, to get some dinner (yummy Thai food) and to the Guster concert at The Pageant! The concert was A LOT of fun - and was my first time seeing Guster performing live.

At first, we were on the balcony level - but left pretty quickly when the drunken frat boy-type was getting me to feeling just horriffic and surly - and I wasn't liking that at all. Downstairs, it was much better. Good view of the band, no drunken frat boys, a damn good time.

When we got home from the show, we stayed up and did some packing/cleaning until 2 a.m., when we finally went to bed.

At 7 a.m., my mom called to let us know that she's on the way to get us, to pick up the U-Haul. Yeah, instead of the 2nd date, it was well into the 2nd year that we're getting the U-Haul. ;)

I was able to get 5 people from church to help out with the move, which made it so much easier and faster to move the big items (computer, bed, couch, tables, etc.). Smaller items would just have to wait until later in the day and/or the next day.

Things seemed to go quite well. Too well, perhaps...

After dropping off the truck, Kellie and I decided to take a short walk out to Boston Market. On the way there, in front of the grocery store, I started to have the aura/hallucination that tends to either precede - or be - a seizure. I thought it would just be the aura, it's it - that's that. Instead, I came to a few minutes later, lying on the ground surrounded by people, with Kellie calling 911 and a random physician checking my vitals.

Since I was in no position to tell the EMTs to just release me after going through their exam (released AMA - against medical advice), I ended up spending the afternoon in the ER near my apartment, sore all over. The blood work to check my medication levels came back as normal, although my potassium levels were a bit low (probably due to my blood pressure meds - although apparently really low potassium levels can cause seizures). I'd also had my elbow X-rayed, to make sure that it hadn't cracked (it didn't). Instead, I was advised that it might swell up to the size of a golf ball, if the bursa had been affected in any way. (3 days later, it's just bruised, nothing more.)

Sure, I was sore as hell for a couple of days, and bruised in places, but it seems like the worst bruising came from the IV site. I'm gonna get a bit gory here - so be warned. Getting the IV put in wasn't so bad, but when it was taken out, it hurt like all get-out. About 3 minutes after I'd had it bandaged up, I'd bled through the bandaging. When the bandage was taken off, I had a bruise the size of a marble on the back of my hand (the IV site). Now, it just looks (and feels) like I'm a pugilist in training. The knot on my hand has gone down considerably, but I will probably be bruised for a few more days.

By the evening, Kellie and I were going to dinner at Outback Steakhouse (yes, even a vegetarian can eat there). It started out pretty fun, eating salads & pumpernickel bread. By the time we got to entrees, the combination of Coca-Cola and red meat proved quite dangerous, kicking my heartburn into severe overdrive.

After the dinner debacle, we went to the grocery store to pick up some trash bags, as well as some actual dinner for me - chicken and dumplings, and Edy's Frozen Juice Bars.

The best things about that day? Besides getting all the furniture moved out - and being able to give some of it to people that could really use it - was the fact that Kellie was there with me when the seizure happened - no matter how scary it was for anyone involved. Also really good was the fact that at the end of the night, we could just sit in bed and read our respective books, and that in itself was a good night.

I'll write about Sunday and Monday later - there's still a bit to be done to get me settled in here!

Love you all!

Shoot me an email (you should still have the address, and I have already emailed you)...and i will give ya my cel number and we will go to lunch. If possible, we could do it tommorrow (wednesday, the 3rd)..cuz, i get out of class at noon, and have to bum around until 2pm for a mandatory employee meeting at my work.
