Bad Bad Day
Dec. 22nd, 2003 09:07 pmYesterday was a pretty bad day for me. I was a stooge & mistakenly took my Zonegran (a seizure medicine), along with a dose of Benadryl at the same time. Result? I slept through church, and was almost barely lucid through the rest of the day. :-/
Today was even worse. I managed to get up in the morning, got to work & all ... but once I got to work, it all went to Hell from there.
I can handle work crises when they come up, and normally, I can ride through them. This time, though, I fucking lost it - and I'm hating myself for doing so.
I was expecting applications for coverage (for a client) that hadn't come in, so I was putting in calls to the insurance company that was supposed to be sending them out via e-mail. In the meantime, I get a call from the client's daughter - they want to come in this morning to complete the applications. Fine. Whatever. Call the company rep again, leave another message. After that, the client's daughter calls again - could the existing company write the coverage at a lower limit? I tell her that I'll check into this.
While I scurry about, checking into these things, other matters come up - smaller fires, if you will. This arson of sorts was my breaking point, though. I thought I could just stay calm, get the applications, have the client fill them out, and after they leave, have my breakdown.
In a parallel universe, maybe. Instead, I just fucking lost it. Five minutes before the client arrived, no less. Thankfully, a co-worker stepped in for me, but I feel like such an asshole, because I broke down like that.
Although, it may have been better that someone else went in there, because I ended up having a seizure at my desk. Considering how out of it I am post-seizure, it was best that I wasn't there, because I'd probably risk freaking out the client. So, I was told that I should go home & get some rest - that everything would be covered. And that's what I did - I went home, had something to eat, changed into my PJs, and took a nap.
And you thought PMS and cramps were a pain to deal with! I sometimes have seizures along with the PMS & cramps, lucky bitch that I am...
This evening, I started cleaning the place up some - okay, so it was mainly throwing out magazines & newspapers that were accumulating for no reason whatsoever. I'll continue cleaning up the place over this week - but I'm happy that I at least got it started.
I know there's so much more to write about, and it will get written up soon! Really, it will. :)
