I now have something to do on Thursday nights - besides watching "Scrubs" and "Will and Grace" on NBC. Yes - I'm actually getting a life for once!

Thursday night, I went to see a local comedy group called The Non Prophets, putting on a show called the "Militant Propaganda Bingo Machine". Admission is $7 with a ticket (which gets you into the next week's show free) - or anywhere from $5-$8 at the door, depending upon the playing card you pick at the door.

Once you get in, you're given a Bingo card, and a list of the sketches the group will perform that night. An emcee picks a letter (which corresponds to the Bingo card), and audience members call out the number of the sketch they want to see. If you get Bingo, you get a prize. Even if you don't get Bingo, you still get to see 24 wickedly funny sketches put on by a group of people that obviously love what they are doing.

After the show, I decided to hang out for a little while, listen to the music and tell a few of the cast members that I enjoyed the show. Well, I did get to do that - and was invited to come back for next week's show (which I will definitely do). Besides that, I met a couple of people - one of the Non Prophets cast members, and a gal from the audience (Anna) - and ended up staying out 'til after 3 a.m. that night. I was so bad, yet it was so fun. :)

The three of us talked about all kinds of things, and of course, Anna and I had our fun with the Guy. (No, nothing naughty - he's got a partner!) We were just hugging, poking at him and occasionally kissing him on the cheek - just because he was fun, and wasn't getting all squicked out the way I'd expect a gay guy to do (damn past experience!) ... probably because he's bi, which I found out later - at another club.

After leaving the "home club", we went to another bar, Mangia Italia, with a couple of other people. The Guy and I had a chance to talk while Anna flitted about, chatting with other people she knew. Turns out that the Guy and I have a bit in common, with both of us being in LTRs (long-term relationships, for those playing along at home) with partners that are gay - while we consider ourselves to be bisexual. So we talked about that, and when we discussed our experiences with coming into our bisexuality, I think we were both amazed at the parallels - deciding that you're gay and being almost obnoxious about it, only to realize that you like the opposite sex as well, which ends up being upsetting because you think of bisexuals according to the stereotypes - and now, you're realizing that you ARE the one thing you despise the most.

We both thought it was very cool to meet another person in the same situation, considering that many people are either cooly indifferent or just downright rude towards your sexuality. He told me that he enjoyed being able to commisserate with someone else about his experiences, and was pretty much flirting with me, which flattered the hell out of me.

When Mangia closed, we went home, alone. Since I'd have to be awake for work in about 3 hours, I stayed awake the rest of the night. I talked to Kellie online for a little while before *she* went to bed (usually it's the other way around, with *me* leaving to go to bed early), read a few magazines and ate leftover Chinese for breakfast ... then got into work on time. (Since we got off work early, I went straight home to bed - and slept from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.)

All in all, it was a damn good time. Although, I think I'll reserve the weeknight bar-hopping for a once-monthly trip at best. :-D
