Boys of Summer
Aug. 13th, 2003 05:33 pmI love that Don Henley song as it is - but The Ataris version just blows me away with how much it sounds like a punked-up version of the original.
Besides that, things seem to be going alright. Work has its hellish moments, the Problem Children seem to have retreated until the next time, and all in all - it's work. Keeps me busy, keeps me out of trouble, keeps a roof over my head.
Family is doing well. My brother is in town until Thursday night, which is definitely cool, especially since he didn't think he'd make it into town.
My stepdad's undergoing chemo - 9 hour days of IVs of saline solution, anti-nausea drugs and his drug cocktail. It's all this week, then one day a week for the next two weeks, three weeks off, then back to the one full week and two one-day weeks round before its completed. He's doing fairly well - as well as can be, I'm sure. Mom seems to be doing pretty well, although she probably has her own private breakdown moments.
I'm doing alright so far this week. I think it's PMS finally backing down - and keeping myself plenty busy with work and visiting my family that helps. This weekend, I have to look for a dress to wear to Rachelle's wedding next Saturday (23rd), so I will be quite occupied with that, I'm sure!
Now, onto good stuff!
Congratulations to Miss Jeska
