Just a short update
Jul. 11th, 2003 06:21 amFirst, Happy Birthday to Miss
cyndal - hope it's a great day for you! :)
Second, the work angst is gradually subsiding. They're giving most of the smaller business to a Service Center, which means that the clients will call into the company and talk with people about making changes, reporting claims or cancelling their policies. If it's something more complex, it gets referred back to us. This way, we can focus on the bigger clients - especially the ones that pay more per year for their insurance than I make in a year.
They're getting a temp in for the days that Rachelle and I will be out of the office, to help keep up on things. That's fine by me.
What's especially fine is that when the office manager found out in a morning meeting that I was still hourly, he met with me in the afternoon and said that they were changing me to a salaried employee effective July 1 - *and* giving me a $1,000/year raise, also effective July 1. As you can guess, I was thrilled. :)
Third, I got my hair cut last night. It's nice and short for the summertime, and post-haircut, I looked in a mirror and thought "If Steven Page were a woman, he'd be wearing his hair like this". The front is parted to one side and combed down while the top & back is spiked up - that bedhead look that many gals seemed to be working recently - and at its longest, I'd guess it to be 2 inches. Now, I just need to color it again, as much of the color was cut out.
Finally, I've had some things come up with my family recently, so if I'm not posting or responding to others' journals very often, it's because I'm trying to work through this. I'll probably share details later - but right now, it's preferred to keep it within the family.
