Let me get the craptastic things out of the way first ...

1) Vicki gave her notice yesterday, and her last day is the 27th. If the entire department was in, we'd probably hold onto her ankles to keep her from leaving. ;) But, she was offered a better position closer to home, so I can understand her leaving.

2) It irks me to no end when a producer comes up with something that has to be done in less than a week, and ends up being a total problem child account. And it really pissed me off when I had a prospect dumped into my lap to be quoted TODAY, because their coverage expires TOMORROW.

Yes ... the entire department is here, and I don't have *anything* else on my desk at all. Of course, that wasn't how it worked. That would be too easy. Rachelle is on vacation until Thursday and Sherry was at a meeting all day, leaving Vicki and I to hold down the fort. Vicki gave me the information and apologized for it being such short notice - but it was extremely short notice for her, too (as in, she just got the e-mail this morning).

And yes, when everything was run, if it wasn't one thing, it was 30 other things. Calling underwriters. Calling Automation Support. The producer calling someone at his old agency to quote a carrier we don't have. OH. MY. GORD. I wanted to wring his neck after going through all this crap, wasting a good part of my day on this meantime project.

With that out of the way ... there is some good news. :) Actually, I saw this in [livejournal.com profile] pangaea23's journal, and really liked it. So here's my list of things I'm grateful for:

1) Everything I'd learned from Vicki. If she wasn't at our agency, I don't think I would've had someone I could go to with my questions about the obscure and out-there aspects of insurance. Even in the course of an everyday conversation, I learned something from her.

2) My internist being kind enough to give me an Rx for my Effexor until I can get back to the psychiatrist.

3) Kellie for listening to me last night while I went through my grumpiness and angsting.

4) Friends like you for sharing your worlds and experiences with me.

5) Metallica, for great music to listen to after holding back the temptation to bitchslap a producer.
