Can I Get A Do-Over on Today?
May. 22nd, 2003 04:41 pmSometimes, you can only kick against the pricks for so long before they start to kick back. Hard.
First thing this morning, I had to be the bearer of bad news to a client. Namely that the policy we'd quoted for him at one rate has come in at almost triple that rate - because of the driving record. Thankfully, when I called and explained this, the client was understanding and accepted my apologies.
Sure, other parts of the day seemed to go better. Then, I get kicked onto my ass by someone else when I have to deliver some not-so-spectacular news to them. Long story short, client didn't like my news, demanded to speak to my supervisor. Supervisor wasn't around - wanted to speak to her supervisor. Okay, fine ... that can be done. Hung up the phone and cried, afraid that if the client spoke to the agency president, I'd get read a riot act - or be canned. But, I had to relay the message....
Thankfully, another co-worker was willing and able to help out, and she called this irate client - only to find that this person was being ignorant to her as well, not just me. Must be nice to run around with one's head shoved up their tuchas at all times, oblivious to the world.
Good news is - the agency president got the message to call the client after the problem was resolved, and he had no idea who the person was (it was a house account, not one he'd deal with directly). So when I told him the Cliffs Notes version of what happened, and how someone else was able to help get things solved (to an extent), he seemed to be pleased. One less call to make, right?
Ah well ... if nothing else, I do get to pet-sit this weekend. The one and only Annabelle is coming for a visit, and I'm so looking forward to it. :)
