Went to the dentist today for a check-up & cleaning ... I may be helping to send one of his kids through their first semester of private school/university soon.

Lucky me, apparently a crown I'd had done several years ago is abcessed. I'm on antibiotics for 2 weeks to take care of the infection, and in a couple of weeks, I get to go in and ... (squick-out factor here) get the crown and post removed in order to remove the dead root/nerve/whatever that had become infected. Then, I get it re-built. (/squick-out factor)

In addition, I have a couple of fillings to be done. I will demand a hell of a lot of Novocaine - and some damn good painkillers afterwards. Something more than 400 mgs of Advil. Perhaps something with Codeine ... or Vicodins halved or quartered. Okay, that's probably asking too much. But I'm a total wussy in the dentist's chair, unfortunately.

Now, I just need that bottle of Ibuprofin - eating dinner tonight had me in pain. :( That and I've been having some swell headaches - nothing more fun than the intermittent feeling of stabbing pain in my eyeball. Dammit.

Ugh. My dad got a new job a few summers ago, and with it, 'really good' dental coverage. Due to this, I've been in and out of the chair more times than I'd like recently. YUCK!

I've had root canals and crowns and who-knows-what else. I have to have the nitrous, and then Motrin 800s. The worst of it is the coming down off of the nitrous - that cold, numb, slack-jawed-yokul feeling...

Headphones. I mean it. Best thing to happen in a dentist chair. Not that there is a lot of competition for that title.. but you know what I mean.
