Forgot to mention the good things...

hiddenmuseIn all my grumping, I forgot to mention the good things that happened today. Then, I put on some lipstick & felt better again. (Silly, but we've all got our tricks for cheering up)
1) Lydia (my old boss) is planning a murder mystery dinner for her church, and in doing so, is looking for a caterer. Tonight, one caterer she's considering dropped off some leftovers from an affair he'd catered earlier that day. There was enough to serve 3 or 4 people, so Lydia offered to pack up some of it for me to take home.
I got to have chicken & ham croquettes with marinara sauce; spinach salad with French dressing, cheddar cheese, soy nuts, red onions & jicama; roasted potatoes and a slice of cake with strawberries & shaved white chocolate. Much, much better than the Healthy Choice dinner I was probably going to have! :)

3) There is a lipstick that can withstand pretty much anything (well, okay, so I haven't had a chance to test it in *ahem* other realms ... but I'm talking everyday life, not my secret pornstar life here). Being a major lipstick whore, I've had a hard time finding one of those "long-lasting" lipsticks that actually lasts.
The good news is, Revlon Colorstay - Overtime Lipstick *does* last the 8 hours it promises on the package.
The bad news is, if you don't like the way the color looks, you have to use an oil-based makeup remover to get it off.
I'm partial to their lurvely red - On-Going Flame, they call it, while my mom is a fan of the Spice color. Well, it was that or Sienna ... one of the two. No matter - it lasts a hell of a long time. And yes, you should use the top coat that comes with it - or your lips will feel really dry. If it comes off, I've used standard lip balm with no problems ... and used Rosebud Salve to remove the color at the end of the night.
And that's a good thing. ;)
