Today, I was bored and in need of new shoes for work. Rather than go through the labyrinth of bus schedules to get to a decent shopping center with a Payless Shoes, I went to the Ghetto Mall downtown. I swear, this mall is exactly what Chris Rock talked about in his "black mall/white mall" bit. Plenty of shops to get baby clothes - and tennis shoes.

Anyways, I did get my work shoes - and even looked for a pair of pretty much useless fuck-me pumps. You know, anything with an impossibly high stilletto heel. The only pair that qualified pinched my toes - which is not cool at all. So I ended up with a pair of 4 inch high wedge shoes that look slutty, but are dressy enough that I could wear them to Christmas parties.

Then, I went to the only department store in the mall - Famous Barr - which unfortunately, is on a downward spiral into being closed permanently. Couldn't find anything in terms of clothing - except for really crappy stuff, some of it stained by ignorant people that don't care that they smudge foundation or lipstick on a dress or sweater. Ewwwwww. Not that I was really looking for clothes anyways. My main objective was to find pantyhose - and I did succeed.

No "ass tourniquet" pantyhose for me, that's for sure! Oh no, I did even better, and found thigh-high stockings that actually go up my thighs the way they should. :) I am a very, very happy girl. I just wonder if the backseam hose are going to fit right. Maybe I should find out this evening....
