Honestly, the first I'd ever heard him was his spoken word in the early 1990s - i knew about Black Flag but didn't know HANK :) and i used to listen to his spoken word tapes over and over again. Ah, Henry. when I finally met him in person, he was quiet, sweet and shy. but then he followed my friends and I into a music store and was more like the Henry we know and adore. :)
