I just haven't had anything to write ... haven't felt like writing, so that's why I haven't been around in so long.

It's been kind of the same old, same old really. Nothing much happening - but I will pass this along:

Henry Rollins' Letter to Ann Coulter Yes, Ann, take him up on the offer to be his "Ann Friday" ... and shut. the. fuck. up. while you're at it, please!

Also, is it bad that I'd read a book (King Dork by Frank Portman) and found myself in agreement with a fictional character? Really, I did - the charachter, Tom Henderson (alias "Chi-Mo") has a rather intense hatred of the book Catcher In The Rye. To be perfectly honest, I didn't like Catcher In The Rye any of the several times that I'd read it - whether it was of my own choice, or because I had to read it. I just didn't like it. And i got slagged on for saying that for the longest time.

So, it bears repeating - I hated Catcher In The Rye. But I liked The Great Gatsby.

That is all. :-)

ya know, i really didn't care for Catcher in the Rye, either.

Glad I'm not the only one.

Definitely not the only one! :-)

I loved the snarky description of Catcher In The Rye from King Dork: "It is every teacher's favorite book. The main guy is a kind of misfit kid superhero named Holden Caulfield. For teachers, he is the ultimate guy, a real dreamboat. They love him to pieces. They all want to have sex with him, and with the book's author, too, and they'd probably even try to do it with the book itself if they could figure out a way to go about it...." "It's kind of like a cult."

Thanks for linking Henry's letter. It was hilarious! Most likely because it's true. She does need to learn to shut the fuck up...NOW!

You're welcome! I saw it the other day, and just died laughing ... Henry is wickedly funny (emphasis on the wicked), and that really got it across.

I saw Henry do a spoken word performance here back in November and he did this thing where he talked about how he fantasized fucking Ann Coulter while she watched the 2008 presidential election returns come in. He said she would start frothing at the mouth, growling and her head would turn a full 360 degrees when she found out that Hillary Clinton had just been elected as our nation's leader, while Henry convinced himself it was because he was fucking her so well. I just about died laughing.

I've been a huge fan of his since I first heard "Hot Animal Machine" almost 20 years ago. Always trenchant, always funny, always hot!
