I've been really into Nellie McKay lately. She's this smart, precocious, 19-year-old girl born in London, raised in New York. Her music is kinda folky (which I'm usually not that into), but different. Songs recommended are "David", "Ding-dong", and "The Dog Song".

They Might Be Giants "Birdhouse in Your Soul", "We Want A Rock", "They'll Need A Crane", and "Anna Ng." Also, "I Palindrome I", "Mammal", "The Statue Got Me High", "Dinner Bell" (It's about Pavlov!), "Don't Let's Start" and "Rhythm Section Want Ad".

*consulting the iPod*

Reverend Horton Heat "Loco Gringos Like A Party" (Rockabilly/Psychobilly)

Coheed and Cambria "A Favor House Atlantic" (Emo)

Ween "Ocean Man" (Alternative/College Rock)

Weezer "The Good Life" (Alternative/College Rock)

White Town "I Could Never Be Your Woman" (Alternative)

Burning Airlines "Outside the Aviary" (Emo)

Anything by The Dismemberment Plan. I heart them. They are college rock/indie rock but very QUIRKY.

Furneral Oration "I Fall Harder" and "Stop For A Moment" (Punk)

The Killers "Somebody Told Me" and "Mr. Brightside" (80's emoish)

Meat Puppets "Lake of Fire" and "Plateau" (80's college rock made famous by Nirvana)

Operation Ivy "The Crowd" and "Sound System" (Punk)
