Elizabeth Kübler-Ross, dead at 78.
Dr. Kübler-Ross had written On Death and Dying, about the stages that people go through as they are dying - denial through acceptance - as well as worked on revolutionizing hospice care as we know it.
Thanks to Dr. Kübler-Ross' work, doctors, nurses and laypeople have a better understanding of dying, and how to make the end of our lives more dignified and comfortable.
May she rest in peace, and may her work continue on for years to come.
