Since I do like to try and expand my culinary horizons from time to time (yes, believe it or not, Kellie...), when a co-worker offered me a lychee, I thought I'd give that a whirl.

Well, let me say that my retention level for the weirdest things is unbelievably high. Especially since as I was peeling into the lychee, all I could think of were two things: a Tony Kornheiser column I'd read in one of his books a couple of years ago, and my Anatomy & Physiology (A&P) class in college.

Sure, they sound wildly divergent, but, they do parallel. Behind the cut, for the sensitive readers )

Just find some other reason to hate me. ;)

Seriously, I got to flex my computer geek muscles this afternoon by helping the gals in my department set up sub-folders for company e-mails in Outlook, as well as showing them how to move the mail from the In Box (or Deleted items) to the folders. For that, I was the little Tech Geek for about 15 minutes.

I even figured out how to re-assign company sub-folders to where I wanted them to go - rather than where they were originally existing!

Sometimes, I am a pretty S-M-R-T girl. :-D

{There's even some good news on the work front - but that's to come later ... like when I'm *not* at work, and it's safer to blog.}

Work News

Well, my good news is this ... I was called into my supervisor's office today, and of course, being a borderline pessimist, I'd half-expected to get told of how I was doing something wrong, and it had to be corrected ASAP. (Oh, ooops - that would be my prior job!)

Anyways, I was called in, and found out that I was getting a raise. Partially for getting my California Brokers License, and also to put me up at the range I should be in, for someone working at my level - and doing what I have been at the desk. Now, I was expecting to get bumped up another thousand, maybe two thousand at best, for getting licensed. Instead, I ended up getting an extremely sweet $7,000 (yes, seven thousand) increase - and this is before my 90 day review, which comes up around July 20th. :)

Now, I may or may not get an increase at 90 days - so if it doesn't happen, I wouldn't be disappointed. I'm happy that I'd gotten such a substantial increase now ... especially since it took me over 6 1/2 years for me to get $6,000 in raises at my prior agency.

So, there it is, my lovelies. My work news. :)

Hope all is going well for everyone on the work front - whether you have a job, or you're looking for work. Have a great tomorrow, and good luck to [livejournal.com profile] nakedhead and [livejournal.com profile] sigmaration on their job interviews tomorrow! :-D
