Feeling So Thindy Brady...
Nov. 18th, 2003 09:52 amYes, I finally have my bite guard. I'm supposed to wear it at night, but since I'm inclined to clench and grind like a mofo at work, I'm wearing it during the day as well. My lisp is just lovely, let me tell you. ;) But it will get better as I get used to this thing.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that the bite guard was as small as it is. For some reason, I was half-expecting it to look almost like a football player's mouthguard (then again, I do sometimes have an overactive imagination)! My only disappointment is that for the money I was paying for it, I didn't get to have it done in some cool-oh color, the way they do with orthodontic retainers. Dammit, I'm not asking for Spongebob Squarepants or the Gordon ball - just a color besides clear ... please?!?
Ah well, in the meantime, I've been popping this baby out to speak with clients (speaking with a grown-up Thindy Brady may not go over well with them) and of course to eat. Otherwise, it's been staying in. And perhaps like Demosthenes with the pebbles in his mouth, this bite guard could help me work on being more articulate. :) Ever the optimist, aren't I?
