Non Sequitur ... Ad Infinitum
Sep. 25th, 2003 05:13 pmI've been unfriended by two people - and that's okay. Sometimes I talk about things that people aren't the most comfortable with, things they may not be ready to hear or deal with in their own lives - and you know something, that's okay. If you're going to leave because of what I have to say, go ahead and leave now.
So you don't like the way I live my life. You don't like reading about what my family is going through. You don't care for my proclivities and inclinations - hey, I'm not foisting them onto you and telling you that you *have to* like the same things I do. 'Tis no big loss really. I'm used to the transient nature of friends on live journal, to be honest.
Onto some work-related crap. One of the producers is quite the unpopular guy in our department today, to say the least. For me, it was relating to a client with a kind of involved backstory....
( work is hell )
In other, somewhat happier, news, on Tuesday, my stepdad took a short walk around the hospital. Aided by a walker, he went from his hospital bed in the Step-Down ICU, to the Lobby (via elevator) where he sat and read the newspaper for a little while. Then, he went back upstairs and was still quite exhausted the next day. I got to talk with him briefly on Tuesday and Wednesday, and he's starting to sound a bit stronger, which is always a very welcome thing. He's still undergoing dialysis, which is helping him a lot. His need for oxygen via tank is gradually being reduced, and his vision seems to fluctuate from day-to-day, although I think he's grateful to have the days when he can see somewhat well.
And when things get bad, I just pull this picture up and end up with a stupid grin on my face: Under The Influence That's Don, Tyson (the pouting bumblebee to you, Bob ;)) and Schmack - three guys that manage to get me laughing every week.
