...blogging, that is.

My phone line is behaving like its Hellspawn, so I either can't get online - or I get kicked off because the connection is lost. So, I try to get online at home when I can, and futz around online during my lunch hour and/or after hours.

I am getting the phone line checked out tomorrow - and if it refuses to behave, it will be taken out and flogged. Shame I may not be around to witness *that*. ;)

Anywho... Things are going as well as expected. My parents are doing well, despite my stepdad still being in the hospital, and probably feeling like a human pincushion, with all the poking and prodding that's being done to find out what *exactly* is wrong.

They've already determined that he has (or had) congestive heart failure from the chemotherapy and the skyrocketing blood pressure, and also think that he may have acute renal failure - which may have contributed to his hypertension and the heart problems. Now, they're going to test him, to see if he may have an ulcer - he's still having a lot of GI problems, and they're weaning him off one of the blood pressure meds that may have contributed to the nausea.

It's unreal - all of it. Yet, when I talk to them, they seem to be in good spirits, and optimistic about everything - while I'm the one that's a neurotic mess at every turn. I admire them for that, because it takes a lot of courage and strength on their parts to be able to see this as another hurdle to overcome before life gets better for them.

In other stuff - the Sonata seems to work pretty well. It takes me maybe half an hour to get to sleep, and I can still wake up in time for the alarm in the morning. Being able to get a good night's sleep can certainly be beneficial for my health - mental and physical.

I started the Lexapro today. Due to the insurance company having their quantity limits, I had to get 20 mg. tablets and split them in half to have the 10 mgs. a day that I'm starting out on. Ah well. It's a hell of a lot better than nothing at all, right?

Not for the easily squicked out )

And, I finally got off my slacker tuchas and found a neurologist that is not only nearby, but also in my insurance network. As much as I loved my other neurologist, it was hard to get to her office - and once there, I'd be waiting almost an hour to see her, which sucked. So, I'm going to be seeing a new one in a couple of weeks. My psychiatrist will be happy, I'm sure. At least, I know that I'm happy. And isn't that what matters?

Yummy
