I've learned some rather sucky things in my life. One of the biggest has to be: "Don't ask questions, it'll only cause trouble."

I learned that one probably from school - but especially from my Temp Slavery days. I had two assignments where my asking (too many) questions resulted in my getting a call from the agency letting me know that my assignment was discontinued - but would you be interested in one of these other assignments?

So from that, I learned that if I asked questions, it wasn't a good sign. It meant that I wasn't smart enough to know what I was doing, and therefore I didn't deserve to be on this assignment. So I was burnt on asking questions - afraid that if I asked too many questions, or the same thing more than once - I'd lose my job.

You can only imagine how it's gone for me in the year since I'd gotten my license. Thankfully, even though I have a lot of questions, they're still answered, and no one makes me feel like I'm an idiot for asking them. Even if I sometimes ask the same things over and over. :)
