(no subject)

I've got a challenge for this evening, courtesy of the loverly sabbysteg. Come up with a list of 20 things I like about myself.

Now if I can do this ... I want to see you all trying it too! :)

For now, though, I think I'm going to run to get dinner and possibly go to the Library for their showing of White Oleander. Then, I'm going home for laundry. Wooohooo.

The Immediate List

This is the list I came up with right off the top of my head. I'm sure that if I put actual thought into it, I'd either have fewer things listed, or it would be too damn long and overdone.

Anyways ... here goes nothing:

1. I wear a tiara in the office when things get frustrating.
2. I know enough HTML to be dangerous.
3. My big lips = goofy-ass grin.
4. My "big words".
5. That people I admire sometimes admire me right back.
6. Twisted sense of humor.
7. Occasional wit.
8. That I can get people smiling.
9. Equally comfortable in jeans or a dress.
10. Ability to handle repairs in the house. (Have toolbox, will travel.)
11. Desire to learn.
12. Willingness to travel.
13. I've done things that I didn't think possible years ago.
14. Slowly letting go of my past.
15. Beginning to recognize when I'm doing something bad for me.
16. Knowing a little bit about a whole lot.
17. Refusing to let my self-worth depend upon my dress size.
18. Finally coming around and realizing that it's okay to ask for help.
19. Being an unrepentant, shameless geek.
20. Starting to love myself as much as I love others.

Gah! It's another damn headache. :(

I've been one month sober as of tomorrow ... and I've been extremely fortunate in that I haven't had the "no caffeine" headaches. Yet, the past few days, I've had headaches that go away after 3 Aleve and 3 Advil in the span of 6 - 7 hours.

I'd love to go to bed, but I have to get my stuff into the dryer ... and it takes an hour before it's dried. Dammit, perhaps I should just get a job at a Nudist Colony or something. ;)

But enough of my bitching. It's been a good night for me. Really. It just felt wierd to go up and down the aisles at the grocery store, thinking of what I can and can't have in the apartment ... then realizing that if/when I binge, *anything* is fair game. Ah well. I'll figure things out in due time.
