As much as I'd love to write a neverending entry about the vacation, I'll spare you the details. Besides, I'm feeling kinda sick (head cold or something) and I have to go to work in the morning (very reluctantly).

Anyways, I am back - and I've made an attempt at reading the 400 something-or-other entries that were posted by people since I'd last checked on the 30th. (Yes, I checked the Friends, but didn't get to post responses or entries) Damn, you're a busy group, aren't you?!? Heck, did you forget so soon that if I leave on vacation, you're supposed to just put the lj-posting on hold until I return? (okay, maybe not ... lol)

I should say, though ... Jody, your newest icon truly rocks. Rowr ... Ed and Steve onstage, with Steve having a damn good time. *swoon* And I thought a book I'd picked up in The Castro (Switch Hitters - lesbians writing gay smut, gay men writing lesbian smut) was inspiring!! (Yes, if I can get off my slacker ass, there may be a story forthcoming at some point.)

Yes, believe it or not ... I think there are some things in the world better than porn. ;)

Little things like "geek-out" moments. Whether they happen at Alcatraz (Kellie), Union Square (me), in The Castro (both of us) or over things like a shared love of MST3K and Neil Diamond (again, both of us), "geek out" moments are quite fun.

Or Sephora in San Francisco's Union Square. Three stories of Femme Nirvana right there. Especially swoon-worthy was the fact that they had an Urban Decay lip ink I couldn't find in Anaheim. (The color is "Bitten", a loverly deep red shade that has earned me the nickname "Slutmouth".) Also the fact that it's been decided that if Steven Page (more on him later) doesn't already wear Burberry's Touch for Men, he should. The stuff is Steve in a Bottle - it smells the way you'd imagine he'd smell. Yummy.

Also in Union Square - the four floor Old Navy. Shopping Geek's paradise. From a bargain basement to a restaurant (really), that Old Navy has it all and then some. I could live there. Well, there or Ikea. (If you ask Kellie, my name is actually "I'm not going to buy anything" when it comes to Ikea.)

Another geek-out moment came from my day in Anaheim. I'd gone to Downtown Disney with Nessa, and found a book called MTV Photobooth, with, you guessed it, photos from the MTV photobooth. In the introduction, they admit to copping the idea from Dave Navarro, who has a photobooth in his house. Anyways, the true geek-out moment came not from the fact that there were photos of VJ Dave Holmes (local boy, meaning he's from St. Louis) - although that was a very close call. It was from the shots of Ed Robertson & Steven Page ... and some random chick that I have no idea who the fuck she is ... lol

Kellie says that Ed looks like a serial killer (well ... maybe. he's just not smiling like he usually does), and Steve's got that "I'm going to Disneyland!" cheesy grin on his face. I admit, the first night I had the book, I had to think bad thoughts (meaning really bad thoughts - not sex thoughts) to get the damn smile off my face.
