I *heart* The Body Shop. Ever since high school, I've been into the goodies they offer. :) Tonight, I was an indulgent bad girl - bought a tube of nude lip gloss that I've taken to calling "Barenaked" (sounds better than "04", as it's labeled on the packaging), some pressed powder with Tea Tree Oil ... and a membership in "Love Your Body", their Repeat Offender ... errrmmm, Preferred Shopper club. Since I joined within a month of my birthday, I even got an 8.4 oz bottle of whatever struck my fancy in the shop. (I settled on Honey & Orange body wash - a yummy, eye-opener scent. Perfect for my morning showers.) And, of course, there was that slight twitterpation in my heart over seeing my swell Payless shoes for sale at Nine West - exact same style, color, everything! - and knowing that I only spent $11 for 'em. Okay, so they're man-made ... at least I can sleep well at night. And they fit my feet, which Nine West couldn't do, thanks to my almost-wide feet.

Besides that, I did find some other good things - at Famous-Barr (or Robinsons-May for those of you on the west coast), I picked up two dresses for $30 total. (Nothing better than 66% off the original price!) Lord & Taylor provided me with a swell blue Jones New York shirt for $10 (additional 50% off the sale price), and I bought a couple of books at Waldenbooks - Dante's Inferno (never read it in high school or college, so I thought I'd change that. Read the Classics when I'm not under duress to read them.) and Harriet Lerner's The Dance of Anger, a book for women about dealing with anger. I read the back of the book and almost cried - partially due to a dire need for an increase in my antidepressant - because I'd felt like this was something I should've been reading several years back ... when I started to notice that my sublimated anger was surfacing in some unhealty ways.

All in all, it was a good night. I resisted the tempations I'd face at Parties in the Park after work this evening - caffeine, and in light of my work week, alcohol. Not to mention avoiding the yuppie types swarming around and being obnoxiously pretty, making me almost feel bad for travelling solamente.

Now, I face a small dilemma. Blues Traveler next Saturday night ... or the Walk/Bike/Run for Epilepsy the day after the Blues Traveler show? Both pretty much cost the same ($25) ... but one would be more beneficial to me, and others like me. (I'm not talking about the concert, either...) I'll mull over that until this weekend - I just have to remember to tell my mom about the Walk/Bike/Run, because it sounded like she was interested in it. :)

{As for the Juliana Hatfield show, there's no question that I'm going. I just have to get over to Blueberry Hill by this weekend to get my ticket for the show.}

Someday I suppose, I will be a verrry indulgent bad grrrl and be a MAC slut - their Viva Glam IV lipstick and Spite Lipglass own me. See - I could never be accused of not being the least bit femme. ;) I'm just femme in a post-modern sense, I guess.
