I seem to be coming down with a cold again. This weather certainly doesn't help - going from the 30s to almost sub-zero and back.

So I get to eat chicken soup, drink ginger ale and try to not get any sicker than I am now! And I get to continue working late, as well as cleaning up the apartment in the process.

Oh lucky me.

I just have to remind myself that it does get better, it can get better and it will get better. And, oh yeah, I will get better, too.

Smile!

This is just a smile from an optimist. It'll get better. I hope this encourages you. :)

Hun, start to feel better. If I was closer, I would come over and sit with you.

Soon you'll be cruising away from zub-sero (and 30 degree) temperatures at about 75 mph!

Oh good lordy - that reminds me of something. Mom's all worried about us road-tripping back to SF, thinks that I should fly out instead ... because (a) it's less expensive, and (b) she doesn't want us - especially me - stranded in the mountains.

Well, I can see the concern there. But I am a very experienced driver, having done cross-country treks and treks through the mountains and treks in minivans/suv's before. I drove a minivan in college and went round trip Cleveland to Cincinnati (read: ice and snow) for 4 years.

Besides... it would cost a LOT to ship your stuff instead. You have to factor that into the cost of the plane ticket to get the total.

I also have great roadside assistance throgh my insurance and most car rental companies also have roadside assistance plans. It's actually better than driving your own car, because if something does go wrong with the car, we can just get another one from the nearest Alamo center. :)

Yeah, my mom said to me: "if you go through with renting a car, get their insurance!" I didn't want to tell her, "mom, the insurance follows the car - Kellie's insurance will cover the rental car!" because I didn't want to sound like I was smarting off to her (even though it's true ... lol).

OK that's just funny. Your mom telling YOU what to do about car insurance.

I know!!

I guess that she went into Mom-Mode, and all she could think is that because I don't drive, I don't know much about how car insurance works - especially with rental cars.

When she gets into that mode, I guess it's easy to forget my exact line of work.

yes...and while you shiver your tushie in sub zero temps.....think about us who are resting in San Francisco (http://www.weather.com/weather/local/94103?lswe=94103&lwsa=WeatherLocalUndeclared) are living the high life.

Just keep that in mind on yet another reason why you are moving.
