Yes, it's official. I finally got my copy of Heavier Things from Amazon (still waiting on Miss Kristie's [livejournal.com profile] wauwau book to arrive, dammit!) last night, and I listened to it entirely too often.

John Mayer, with his silly facial expressions onstage, those full lips, that "Dave Matthews-stuck-in-University" vibe is bound to be yet another of my future ex-husbands. (He's right in line with Steven Page, Matt Damon, Chris Carrabba, Tyler Stewart and Sean Astin) Still, there was something incredibly fun in turning off all the lights - save for the table lamp in the living room - lighting some candles and taking a shower while being serenaded by John.

Mmmmmm, stepping out of the shower to the dulcet tones of "Come Back to Bed" - oh sweetie, let me get my sleeping pill, then sure. ;)

In other news, please add me to the ever-growing list of closet Justin Timberlake fans. Yes, I'm another one of those people that saw him on SNL and was quite impressed with his singing *and* acting. I *loved* him in drag as Jessica Simpson - too damn funny. (As for Mr. Jimmy Fallon ... oh baby, I just wanna lick that tribal band on your arm.) I'm almost surprised that they didn't throw in a "Wake Up Wakefield" sketch so Maya Rudolph's character could finally meet her future husband, Mr. Justin Timberlaaake.

Besides swanning over the John Mayer CD, I also got a book called Noonday Demon - An Atlas of Depression by Andrew Solomon. I could barely make it through the first chapter without crying, because it was all resonating entirely too well at this point in time. It feels like one of those books that I want to read several times: once to read and get a feel for it, a second time to highlight the hell out of it, and a third time to read, highlight and cry again before possibly passing it onto someone else so they can read it - to either understand the depressive experience, or relate to the book through their own experience.

And, that's all for now. I'm going to nuke lunch, and then, it's back to work. Have a great afternoon and evening, my lovelies!

I did! I did! :)

And I'm willing to give up being an old lady in bed by 10 p.m. for it, too!

I read a bunch of Noonday Demon in the bookstore a while back, but I was so easily overwhelmed that I didn't buy it. It's well done, though, so I can see reading it 3 times!

Isn't John Mayer's new CD kick bass? What's your favorite track?

"Daughters" - that's a very gorgeous song. I'm also into "Clarity" - but that's partially because The Roots drummer (?uestlove) plays on it, and I do like The Roots. :)

Oooooh - haven't seen *that* one, but yeah, I can certainly understand Justin's attraction to John. *evil smirk*

Oh most definitely. As if John Mayer the man isn't hot enough, his voice and his music definitely work too!

Definitely adding the CD to the list of baby-making music. ;)

It's a bit overwhelming, but that could also just be my general mindset right now. I'm just getting into the 2nd chapter, and it's hard to read in public without wanting to cry. Otherwise - it seems to be a very good book, definitely well-written.

I'd recommend it.

I like "Clarity" as well. Right now I am also torn between "Come Back To Bed" and "Something's Missing" - both are great tunes. Do you think I should pick up his first CD? I was going to order it last week but I ended up ordering Anastacia because I am retarded.

Oh yeah! Room For Squares has some great songs on it, too. :) So pick it up if you can.

I love his music... it's great to put on when I am trying to write or relax. But I get this really creepy vibe from him for some reason. He's like the Michael Jackson of his vibe or something. I think it might be the forearm tattoo that throws me.
