I am totally dangerous in Target. Last night, I went in with my neat little list and still came away having spent about $150. But, I've got the needful things (pantyhose, dishwashing soap, Downy - with wrinkle release, hair color, batteries and deodorant) and some wantful things (magazines, make-up, a Dennis Miller DVD - fucking hilarious, and a t-shirt for Halloween that says "Bite Me").

Now, if I could come up with some way to shut up my neurotic little mind, it would be fabulous. I know what's bringing it on (PMS), I just wish that I had an actual remedy for what's ailing me in that respect. Anything has to be better than achy girl parts and mood swings that have me crying in bed at night.

In the meantime, I'll just go for a temporary remedy. I'm taking myself out for dinner and a movie. :) If I'm not mistaken, I think that Cicero's (Italian restaurant/bar) has some kind of dinner special on Tuesday nights - so I'll get something there, then go to the Tivoli and catch Party Monster during its one-week-only run.

And because I'm not all bad news today, I do have some good news (for once): my stepdad is home from the hospital!! He's been home since Friday afternoon, and while he did seem a bit touch-and-go over the weekend, he's gradually improving. It's all about those baby steps - as Anna reminded me, those are the first steps we take. I'm just very very grateful that he's home, and has been home for longer than 48 hours this time. :-D

Thank you all for the prayers, well wishes and thoughts - it certainly means a lot, and has definitely helped keep my family going through these rough times. I just hope that I can be able to return the favor to you all when you may need it.

Well, that's GREAT NEWS about your stepdad!! It's about time, eh?

Target is a great black hole that sucks all my money. I can no longer 'run in' to Target. Whatever you do, stay away from the clothes because they are TOTALLY cute this season.

I'm sorry that PMS is so hard on you. Have you ever tried any homeopathic remedies? One thing that I've found that really helps with the monster mood swings I have is a nifty little gadget I got at the Origins counter, it's called the Peace of Mind inhaler. I carry one in my purse and keep one in the house, it's rosemary and mint and ecalyptus, and you just open it and take a few deep sniffs...it's VERY relaxing and helps when the stress is really getting to me. They also make a lotion in the same scent that's very cool and tingly and you massage it into your temples and at the base of your neck and it really helps.

The Thermacare menstrual cramp patches are wonderful for achey female parts, they work wonders.

Ironically, I was just going to tongue-in-cheek suggest a priesthood blessing, and a commercial for the Book of Mormon just came on. Did you know that I am a former convert that was baptized when I was 17 and almost went on a mission? I left about 7 years ago.
